FREE – KIDS PERFORMING ARTS CLASSES!  LUMBERYARD Contemporary Performing Arts is pleased to present LUMBERYARD Young Performers, a weekly after-school program in the performing arts, in collaboration with the Catskill Community Center. Greene County School District students ages 9-16 can learn about all different types of performance with LUMBERYARD’s Melanie George and a roster of professional performing artists from New York City. Come try clowning, contemporary dance, puppetry, acting, African dance, and more!  Classes meet every Monday, except school holidays; 4 to 4:50pm for ages 13-16, 5 to 5:50 for ages 9-12. Students do not need to attend every session to be a part of the program. Sign up online at or at the Catskill Community Center!

Saturday, April 14

SPRING GARDENING DAY hosted by the Master Gardener Volunteers of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Columbia & Greene Counties; to be held at the Columbia-Greene Community College in Hudson.  Registration deadline is April 6.  This year’s offerings include sixteen 90-minute classes in two sessions, covering a wide range of gardening topics including Attracting Birds and Butterflies with Native Plants; Creating A Cutting Garden; Rain Gardens; Microgreens; Vegetable Gardening; Worm Composting; Backyard Chickens; Birding 101; and many more. The first session of eight classes will run from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m., the second from noon to 1:30 p.m.  Our keynote speakers, The Fabulous Beekman Boys, Josh Kilmer-Purcell and Dr. Brent Ridge, will be speaking from 10:45 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.  Light refreshments will be available for purchase. The cost of the program is $30 per person for two sessions and the keynote address, $15 for one session and the keynote address, or $15 for the keynote address only. FAMILY FUN DAY hosted by the Columbia-Greene Community College Day Care and held at Columbia-Greene Community College Arts building (theater) from 12 to 4pm.   Performance by John Farrell, Sean “The Prankster” Magician, face painting by Crystal, Crazy Christine Balloons and lots more Fun!  Adult tickets $10, children 12 and under $5.
